Delivering and Managing Culturally Competent Services
At the end of this training module participants will be able to:
- Acknowledge and appreciate the role of cultural diversity in BME communities and effective management of culturally viable and feasible health services.
- Develop cultural skills needed by professionals and specialised organisations in providing culturally competent services to people from BME communities.
- Identify the 'growth-negative' and 'growth-positive' culture sensitive factors within the BME communities.
- Develop culturally sensitive interpersonal relationships and team-building skills within the BME communities for problem identification, problem solving and decision-making.
- Have the knowledge, skills and attributes required to developing cultural competency within the BME communities.
- Understand the processes involved in achieving cultural competency in the workplace.
- Understand the common barriers to cultural competency care.
