Culturally Sensitive Services Provision Unit
In response to the major health inequalities faced by BME communities living in Glasgow, REACH provides a broad based, integrated health service programme. In partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Primary Care Division, we have developed a Community Health Clinic that offers preventative health promotion information and comprehensive clinical advice to individuals from the BME community. Moreover, REACH's service delivery is sensitive to issues of ethnicity, race, and religion/faith. Currently, our provision includes:
A Smoking Cessation Clinic, in partnership with Public Health Pharmacy Department of Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board
- A Substance Misuse Clinic, in partnership with the Robertson Trust and South East Addiction Team run by Glasgow City Council
- Holistic Health Exercise and Fitness Programme delivered in REACH's mini-gym.
- Delivery of Preventative Health and Wellbeing Workshops for/with BME communities around Glasgow.
REACH provides preventative clinical services which are accessible and sensitive to the different requirements of the diverse cultural backgrounds of BME communities in Scotland.
